Shanghai Jiao Tong University Antai College of Economics & Management has the pleasure to invite Chinese managers working in Nordic companies in China to attend the "2008 Nordic Culture and Management Style" executive training workshop to be led by Tony Fang, PhD, Associate Professor from Stockholm University during January 7-9, 2008.
Professor Tony Fang is an internationally sought-after speaker and seminar leader in global cross-cultural management particularly involving Chinese and Nordic perspectives. He is the author of the books Chinese Business Negotiating Style (London, 1999) and Att göra afförer i dagens Kina (Stockholm, 2005).
Objective
The objective of the workshop is to enhance Chinese managers’ understanding of Nordic culture, society and management style in a systematic fashion.
Research questions
What are the most distinctive Nordic values, behavior, etiquettes and habits seen from a Chinese manager’s point of view?
How to understand Nordic societies, cultures and management practices from historical and cross-cultural perspectives?
What are the major cultural differences and similarities between the Nordic countries and other Western countries?
What are the major Nordic companies in China?
What is a Nordic management style?
How to work, communicate, and negotiate more effectively with Nordic business people?
What are the implications of Nordic values for Chinese business, culture, and management?
What can Nordic business people learn from China?
How to integrate Nordic culture and Chinese culture to achieve synergy at work?
Teaching and learning style
The workshop is based on both theory and practice concerning Nordic culture and management style. Teambuilding, theoretical frameworks, case analyses, panel debates, and mini-plays are basic features of the workshop.
Working language
The main working language is Mandarin but all the presentation slides and other written materials are in English. Mini-plays will also be conducted in English.
Qualified participants should meet the following requirements
Currently working in a Nordic organization or working closely with Nordic organizations
Good command of English
Motivated and fun-loving!
Price
The price for the workshop is RMB 4900/person, which includes material, coffee breaks, lunches and the workshop dinner.
